The University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses’ newcomer, Angeline Poyos, has pledged to enhance the consistency of her offensive contributions in the UAAP Season 86 women’s volleyball tournament.
Poyos expressed happiness for contributing to the Golden Tigresses’ first three wins this season. She assured the Thomasian community that she is committed to further improving her game.
“Masasabi ko na ito na talaga ‘yung performance ko, ito na talaga ‘yung Angge pero meron pang ibubuga sa next games,” said Poyos, who was named the first Player of the Week this season.
“Super happy lang kasi nakapag-contribute nga ako sa team and medyo nagiging consistent na ako this time, and I hope sa mga susunod pa na mga games mas ilaban ko pa,” she added.
Poyos maintained an average of 20 points in the three matches, achieving a career-best output of 24 points in the Golden Tigresses’ four-set victory against the University of the East Lady Warriors.
In her UAAP debut, Poyos recorded 16 points against the National University Lady Bulldogs, while she secured 22 markers in their triumph against the defending champions, the De La Salle University Lady Spikers, last Sunday.
The Golden Tigresses are set to resume action on Sunday afternoon against another Final Four contender, the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
