Creamline Cool Smashers star Alyssa Valdez was honored as “The Most Trusted Sportsperson” by Reader’s Digest for the second consecutive year.
During her acceptance speech, the volleyball phenom expressed her hope that the citation would contribute to defying gender stereotypes in sports.
“Trust always plays an important role, and I hope this recognition will help defy gender stereotypes and social norms in sports,” Valdez said.
“I also hope that this will pave the way for more female role models to inspire others,” added the former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles standout.
The 30-year-old Valdez received the same citation last year, succeeding the 2022 awardee, retired eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao.
Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Awards are based on the results of a commissioned third-party survey conducted by research firm Catalyst.
The annual survey of the international general-interest family magazine specifically aims to identify top-of-mind brands across 50 categories of consumer products, services, and personalities.
