Kyle Neypes selected as Asian import for Borneo Kings

Filipino center Kyle Neypes has been signed to play for the Malaysia-based Borneo Kings squad in The Asian Tournament, slated from April 19 to July 30.

The Kings announced the acquisition of the former National University Bulldogs big man as one of their Asian imports on Tuesday night.

“Introducing one of our Asian imports in the upcoming The Asian Tournament, the 6’4 versatile forward from 🇵🇭, Kyle Neypes!” the Kings wrote on their social media post.

The signing also came as a relief for the 6-foot-4 Neypes after being slapped with an indefinite ban by the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League for his alleged involvement in game-fixing.

In their team overview, the Kings said that their participation in The Asian Tournament was for them to bring “the Malaysian basketball into spotlight.”

“With their dynamic approach to the game and steadfast team unity, they’re geared up to turn heads and compete with heart, fueled by their collective passion for basketball and a shared commitment to excel,” the team said.
