Earl Abadam connected timely baskets in the endgame as the De La Salle University Green Archers edged the Converge FiberXers, 120-112, in the 2024 Kadayawan Invitational Basketball Tournament on Friday night at the USEP Gym in Davao City.
After the FiberXers tied the score at 101-all, the Green Archers got three free throws from Abadam and inside conversions from Cyrus Austria and Jan Macalalag to establish a 108-101 lead.
As the FiberXers threatened to within 108-111 following inside conversions from Justin Arana, the Green Archers widened their lead to 113-108 after two free throws from Abadam.
Converge made their last run at 111-113 on a triple by Patrick Maagdenberg, but the Green Archers answered with a layup from Austria, a three-pointer from Abadam, and a layup from Kevin Quiambao to seal the win.
With the victory, the defending champions, the Green Archers, kept their title-retention bid alive as they tied the FiberXers in second place with a 1-1 win-loss slate.
The impressive performance of the Green Archers has left the netizens watching online in awe.
