Blackwater Bossing point guard Regile Kent “RK” Ilagan is preparing for the upcoming PBA innovation by sharpening his four-point shooting.
In a video posted by Simple Grind, a basketball skill training academy in the country, the 5-foot-7 guard was captured practicing his shots from all spots outside the 27-foot arc.
Ilagan, a former San Sebastian College Golden Stags standout, was a 32 percent three-point shooter during the 2023–24 PBA season for the Bossing.
The PBA recently announced the move to implement the four-point shot beginning in the 2024 Governors’ Cup next month, making the league the first-ever 5×5 professional basketball league to adopt the said long-range shot.
The four-point shot was first tested by the PBA during the 2023 PBA All-Star Weekend match in Passi City, Iloilo, last year and was repeated during this year’s PBA All-Star in Bacolod City.
An arc measuring 27 feet will be put on the court during games, while the three-point line, which measures 23 feet, will stay.
