The NorthPort Batang Pier made a quick import change ahead of their clash with the Terrafirma Dyip in the PBA Governors’ Cup tonight at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Batang Pier announced on Thursday that they have brought back Australian center Venky Jois in lieu of Taylor Johns.
The 31-year-old Jois has played for the Batang Pier in the 2023 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, where he helped the team reach the quarterfinals round.
During his first stint with the Batang Pier, Jois had impressive averages of 23.9 points, 15.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.8 steals, and 2.3 blocks in 41.2 minutes of play.
Jois just came from a tour of duty with the Sichuan Blue Whales in the Chinese Basketball Association.
Johns, in his lone game with NorthPort, had a near triple-double of 36 points, 16 rebounds, and nine assists in a 101-95 loss to the TNT Tropang Giga.
