Justin Brownlee recalls fun battles with Allen Durham

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings resident import Justin Brownlee paid tribute to long-time PBA rival, Meralco Bolts reinforcement Allen Durham, who recently retired from professional basketball.

Brownlee described his four playoff series encounters with Durham as “fun battles,” noting that they learned from each other as players throughout their rivalry.

“It’s always a fun battle going against him. I appreciate the player that (he is) and more importantly, the person. Congrats to AD for his great career,” said Brownlee.

“He’s been an incredible player, a great player in the Philippines and all over Asia. Just congratulations to the success,” added the Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player.

Brownlee and Durham faced off in the PBA Governors’ Cup finals in 2016, 2017, and 2019, with Brownlee winning all three encounters.
The two imports recently met again in the quarterfinals of the 2024 PBA Governors’ Cup, where the Gin Kings swept the Bolts in three games.

Durham wrapped up his 13-year professional basketball career as a champion with the Ryukyu Golden Kings in the Japan B.League.
