WBC minimumweight champion Melvin Jerusalem is expected to make his second title defense against one of the Shigeoka brothers, either Ginjiro or Yudai.
Promoter JC Mananquil confirmed that Jerusalem, who successfully defended his title against Mexican Luis Castillo, will face one of them in his upcoming bout.
Jerusalem knocked down Yudai twice before taking the crown early this year.
Ginjiro, who also lost his IBF crown to another Pinoy Pedro Taduran, is also a strong contender for Jerusalem’s WBC title.
Mananquil said in the Daily Tribune that the fight will probably take place in “March or April 2025 in Japan.”
