Basketball vlogger Harmz “Mr. Long Bomb” Hui is not fit to play in a professional basketball league, according to Pilipinas Super League (PSL) interim commissioner Gerry Esplana.
Esplana pointed out that Hui’s game is limited to long-range shooting, which he believes is not enough to secure a spot in the PSL.
“That’s a professional league, and with that level of play, let’s face it, hindi ka uubra dun,” Esplana said in a quote posted on Hoops.PH.
Esplana also felt disrespected when Hui challenged him to a one-on-one match after he merely pointed out areas for improvement.
“How disrespectful you are. Nung nasa PSL ka, ang tawag mo sa akin Kume, ngayon Gerry na lang,” Esplana said. “Kino-correct kita, ikaw ang nag-aya sa akin mag one-on-one.”
“Ikaw ang nagtanggal sa sarili mo (sa PSL), hindi ako. Para hamunin mo ako uli ng one-on-one, para namang nakakawala ng respeto kapag pinatulan kita,” he added.
Hui played five games for the Stallions in the PSL, tallying just four points on 1-of-14 shooting from three and 1-of-4 from the free-throw line. He also recorded one rebound, one assist, and four turnovers.
His stint included a one-game suspension after challenging Esplana to a one-on-one and ended with an ejection in his final game following an altercation with fellow basketball vlogger Jonah “Kobe ng Pinas” Jacob of Biñan Tatak Gel Beast Motorcycle Tires GameX.
