Rain or Shine center Caelan Tiongson has urged fans of BINI’s Maraiah Queen “Aiah” Arceta to respect her personal boundaries, especially if she enters a romantic relationship in the future.
“If you have love for these girls, my encouragement to you guys is to respect them. Because sometimes love can be overbearing,” Tiongson said in an interview with DWAR Abante Radyo.
“So, if she’ll have romance in the future, hopefully her boundaries can be respected so she can enjoy life like a normal human being, and like how she deserves to,” he added.
Tiongson has been romantically linked to Aiah after she was spotted at Rain or Shine’s PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinal games against TNT Tropang Giga. However, some Blooms—BINI’s fanbase—criticized him for not addressing what they deemed as “nasty comments” from his friends and teammates on social media.
Despite this, Tiongson reminded fans that supporting idols also means respecting their privacy.
“I think, to be honest with you, the country, the Philippines, has a real privilege to experience BINI and the talents within that,” he said.
“I would encourage fans that personal lives, knowing that is a privilege and not a right, to protect them by respecting some privacy, that is important,” he added.
