Taduran aims to become undisputed champion

IBF minimumweight champion Pedro “Kid Heneral” Taduran is not just content with holding a world title—he wants to unify the division.

“I just don’t want to become a world champion. I want to become undisputed, too,” said the two-time world champion in a Daily Tribune report.

To achieve this goal, Taduran may have to face fellow Filipino and WBC titleholder Melvin Jerusalem, as well as Puerto Rico’s Oscar Collazo, who holds the WBO and WBA belts.

Before any unification bout, however, Taduran must first get past Japan’s Ginjiro Shigeoka in their highly anticipated rematch.

Taduran previously stopped Shigeoka in nine rounds to claim the IBF title, but the two are set to meet again this May.

“This is going to be a long training camp,” Taduran said, emphasizing his focus on preparation for the rematch.
