Filipina tennis star Alex Eala is embracing her Miami Open success in style, joining the viral “sumakses” trend with her own fun twist.
Eala, who pulled off stunning wins over three Grand Slam champions to reach the semifinals, shared a playful video parodying Sir Thata Channel’s popular TikTok skit.
“Nuong nakita mo sa imagine mo bigla kang sumakses, pero step by the step pa lang bago ka sumakses. Pero ‘yung imagine mo bigla kang sumakses,” Eala recited while lip-syncing on a tennis court.
The clip, posted on her Instagram, was accompanied by a heartfelt caption where she expressed gratitude for the support and called on fans to rally behind her in the semis against American Jessica Pegula.
“Success pa more! Mga kababayannnnn!
Di ko talaga alam kung paano ibahagi sa inyo ang pakiramdam ko ngayon. Ang layo na nang narating natin, pero tuloy pa rin ang laban! Maraming salamat at sana subaybayan niyo ako sa susunod na laban. 
”

Eala’s lighthearted post shows she’s keeping the mood fun despite the high stakes ahead.
