Javi Gomez de Liaño open to PBA return, awaits offers from overseas

After a season with the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), Javi Gomez de Liaño is considering a return to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

The former University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons standout shared that a PBA team has recently shown interest in him, although his playing rights remain with Terrafirma Dyip.

“I am thinking about it; I miss the lifestyle here. At this point, I want to settle down na din, nakakapagod din na malayo sa family,” Gomez de Liaño said in an interview with DWAR Abante Radyo.

“Definitely (I am considering returning to the PBA). If I got a good offer here, I hope I do, so that I got a reason to stay here and be with family,” he added.

While leaning toward a return to local basketball, Gomez de Liaño is also exploring opportunities overseas.

“I am also waiting for offers from other leagues like Japan or Korea (before making a decision),” he said.

In his final conference with Terrafirma last year, Gomez de Liaño posted averages of 15.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
