Petro Gazz star Brooke Van Sickle will receive the inaugural Season Most Valuable Player award at the Pilipinas Live PVL Press Corps Awards Night after an exceptional campaign that propelled the Angels to the 2024–25 All-Filipino Conference crown.
Van Sickle, 27, is set to claim the highest individual honor presented by Arena Plus on May 28 at Novotel, as announced on the PVL website.
The dynamic outside hitter was a constant force on both ends for the Angels, steering the squad to a monumental title run that ended Creamline’s four-conference All-Filipino reign.
Van Sickle topped the MVP race with 227.6 weighted points—comprising 116.3 statistical points, 66.3 media votes, and 45 team votes. She outpaced Creamline stars Bernadeth Pons (205.6) and Michele Gumabao (151.4), who placed second and third, respectively.
Despite a rocky season that saw Petro Gazz fall short in the Reinforced and Invitational conferences, the Angels bounced back with Van Sickle at the helm—clinching the AFC title in dramatic fashion.
A model of consistency, the Hawaii-born spiker also bagged Best Outside Hitter honors in both the Reinforced and All-Filipino Conferences, along with her second straight Conference MVP plum.
In the AFC, she ranked third in scoring (349 points: 296 spikes, 30 blocks, 23 aces), led the league in service aces per set (0.38), and finished second in spiking efficiency (36.86%). On defense, she placed third in receiving (35.37%) and sixth in digs (2.89 per set).
Through every high and low of Petro Gazz’s roller-coaster season, Van Sickle remained the Angels’ anchor — a well-deserved MVP in every sense.
