LEE COUNTY, Ala. (WRBL) — A LaGrange woman is dead following a crash that happened in Lee County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Highway officials said the crash happened Wednesday at approximately 3:21 p.m. on U.S. 280 near the 133 mile marker, approximately four miles west of Salem.
According to ALEA, the crash claimed the life of 85-year-old Melinda R. Adams of LaGrange. She initially critical injured when her 2015 Lincoln MKZ she was driving was struck by a 2017 Nissan Sentra.
Adams was transported to Piedmont Medical Center in Columbus where she later succumbed to injuries on Friday, and was pronounced deceased, according to ALEA.
The driver of the Nissan Sentra was also taken to Piedmont Medical Center for medical treatment, while the 17-year-old juvenile passenger in the Lincoln, who was also injured, was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
ALEA says agents are continue to investigate the crash.
