Filipina tennis star Alexandra “Alex” Eala once again looked back on her historic US Open debut by posting a video collage on Instagram, capturing her journey from stepping on court to securing her first-ever Grand Slam singles victory.
The 20-year-old shared raw emotions through clips and reposts, including her reaction to the US Open’s post declaring “WHAT A COMEBACK
”—featuring images of her in action and another of her lying on the court in tears after sealing the win.
ESPN also highlighted her moment, posting “The crowd went wild for Alex Eala” alongside a photo of her celebrating on the ground, to which she responded, “The best crowd
.”

Eala further reposted Hong Kong player Coleman Wong Chak-lam’s photo of both of them crashing to the ground after earning first-round wins, joking, “Not bad for first-timers.”

The collage also showed a heartfelt moment of Eala hugging the Nadal family, under whom she trained during her years at the Rafa Nadal Academy.
Eala stunned world No. 14 Clara Tauson of Denmark in her first-round match, rallying back from a 1-5 deficit in the deciding set to win 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (13-11). The breakthrough made her the first Filipino to win a Grand Slam singles match.
Now ranked world No. 75, Eala will face Spain’s Cristina Bucșa (No. 95) next, with the winner advancing to the Round of 32 against either Elise Mertens of Belgium or New Zealand’s Lulu Sun.
