Clingstones celebrate Emma Duke Blake’s Cancer victory

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL) –– In a heartwarming moment at Synovus Park, the Clingstones partnered with Gold Glove Charities to honor children battling cancer, spotlighting a very special hero: Emma Duke Blake.

Emma, a native of Columbus, completed the Home Run for Life, an initiative that celebrates kids who have fought—or are still fighting—cancer. Diagnosed with eye cancer at just five years old, Emma endured 20 rounds of chemotherapy and 28 rounds of radiation. Last October, she rang the bell, marking the triumphant end of her treatment.

The Clingstones wore special jerseys that were auctioned off to benefit Gold Glove Charities, further supporting the fight against childhood cancer. Fans and players alike celebrated Emma's courage as she completed her home run trot, turning the field into a stage for inspiration and hope.

Emma's story is a reminder of the challenges young cancer patients face, and the joy that comes from community support. Her home run trot at Synovus Park is a milestone not only in her journey but also in raising awareness and funds to fight childhood cancer.
