PLDT High Speed Hitters star Savannah Davison described their entry into the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) on Tour Finals as nothing short of surreal.
The Filipina-Canadian scorer admitted that securing a finals spot was no easy feat, especially with the formidable Creamline Cool Smashers standing in their way.
“It’s surreal to be in the finals. I am just proud of my teammates… it’s a good feeling,” said Davison, who erupted for 34 points in PLDT’s 27-25, 22-25, 19-25, 25-16, 15-10 triumph over the Cool Smashers.
“Every time you play Creamline it is a different game. We cannot play them the same way we played them before,” she added.
For Davison, the win was even sweeter given the caliber of their opponent.
“It’s always a good feeling to win, but this one is just a little bit sweet because they are such hard competitors. It makes us look back at our hard work and sacrifice,” she said.
The explosive hitter credited the team’s shared resolve for pushing through the intense, winner-take-all semifinal.
“Like what I said, it is a great feeling to be part of this team since we share all the hard work and sacrifices,” she added.
PLDT will now aim to complete its dream run when it faces the Chery Tiggo Crossovers in the one-game championship on Sunday night at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
