Johann Chua stamped his class in the international billiards scene once again after capturing the 2025 Battle of the Bull title, defeating American ace Shane Van Boening in the finals held in Roanoke, Virginia, on Sunday (Manila time).
The Filipino cue artist, known as “Bad Koi,” scored a 13-8 victory over Van Boening to bag the $20,000 top purse in the prestigious 128-man tournament.
Fans quickly flooded the comments section of SEA Sports News with congratulatory messages.
“Congrats,” wrote Zenaida dela Vega.
“Well done, Champ!” added Laurence Dela Cruz.
“Congratulations gaw,” shared Delfz Balasabas.
Chua’s triumph came as a resounding bounce-back after his recent disappointment in the World Pool Championship, going undefeated throughout the event to clinch the crown.
With the victory, Chua now shifts his focus to the 2025 US Open Championship in Atlantic City, New Jersey, later this week.
