Speculation erupted among Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots fans after the team’s official Facebook page posted a cryptic teaser Friday night hinting at a “balikbayan” returning.
The eight-second video, captioned “Abangan…”, featured the message: “May balikbayan kami… ABANGAN!”

The post immediately fueled guesses from fans, who linked the clue to possible returns of familiar names associated with the franchise—ranging from former star Calvin Abueva, ex-coach Chito Victolero, PBA legend James Yap, retired big man Billy Mamaril, forward Javi Gomez de Liaño, and even Gilas Pilipinas standout Will Navarro.

“Haha, baka si Chito,” another added.
“James Yap bitaw pa lang ng bola,” wrote another supporter.
Others suggested Mamaril, with one fan joking, “Sino yan? Parang shooting form ni Billy Mamaril haha.”
Some even pointed to Gomez de Liaño, with one netizen citing a vlog by Russel Escoto that showed draft applicants scrimmaging with Magnolia.
The Hotshots, now under new head coach Lewis Alfred “LA” Tenorio, are in the thick of preparations for the PBA’s 50th season, which tips off on October 5.
