Terrafirma Dyip is ushering in a new era with former PBA guard Ronald Tubid taking over as head coach in time for the league’s milestone 50th season.
According to a report by Abante Sports Now, Tubid replaces interim mentor Raymond Tiongco, who guided the team over the past two conferences.
The 43-year-old Tubid is no stranger to the franchise, having suited up for Terrafirma in 2017 after being traded from the San Miguel Beermen.
He later shifted to coaching, serving as one of then-head coach Johnedel Cardel’s assistants alongside Tiongco, before being promoted to team manager during the 2021–22 season.
Tubid’s first major assignment will be leading Terrafirma in the upcoming PBA Rookie Draft, where the Dyip hold the coveted No. 1 overall pick.
