LAGRANGE, Ga. (WRBL) — A man's heroic actions back in May have landed him a major honor by a local hospital.
Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital has recognized 22-year-old Zion Reed as August's First Friday Hero.
Back in May, Reed interfered in what could have been a potentially deadly situation.

Reed noticed a woman seizing and convulsing while driving on Highway 27 near the Bryant Lake subdivision.
Onlooker Drew Garner says he witnessed Reed sprinting toward the still-moving vehicle, diving into the car headfirst and hitting the brake. Reed's quick thinking and heroic actions stopped the car just in time as a dump truck was headed right towards the car.
Officials say the driver, an unnamed woman, was treated and later released from the hospital.
Piedmont Columbus Regional created the First Friday Hero program in 2016 to recognize first responders and everyday heroes each month who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
