TODAY & SUNDAY:
We're starting out with cloudy conditions and mostly dry with temps in the low to mid 70s. There are a few light showers down around Americus, but elsewhere the overnight showers have dissipated. We do expect to scattered to widespread showers to develop once again today, so grab thos umbrellas before you head out the door. Highs today will be in the low to mid 80s. Sunday, we'll see some isolated showers, all ahead of a front that will be bringing in some cooler and drier air for next week. Highs on Sunday will be in the upper 80s as we should see some sunshine.
NEXT WEEK:
Monday looks great as that front passes through the area very early Monday, and behind it, drier and cooler air will filter in. Highs on Monday could top out near 90, then we'll see mid 80s the rest of the week as that cooler air works it's way down. There could be a stray shower late Tuesday into early Wednesday from a disturbance sliding down from the north, but it should be dissipating as it draws close to the Chattahoochee Valley, so we might not get anything other than some clouds. Then we end the week with mostly dry conditions and afternoons highs in the mid 80s. There could be a stray shower Thursday and Friday and we some moisture try to return late week, but most of you will stay dry.
TROPICS:
There are several areas being monitored by the National hurricane Center. One area in the open Atlantic could develop sometime today in a tropical depression or storm, but it won't impact land at all. The other area is in the southern Atlantic, located about 1,000 miles east of the Windward Islands. NHC is giving it a 20% chance of development sometime in the next 7 days. But with it's more southern approach, it's worth keeping an eye on down the road.
