COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- Happy Saturday! We are tracking a beautiful weekend. A few pop up showers have developed on the radar this afternoon, but most areas remain dry.
Sunday: We have added pop-up showers to the forecast tomorrow, but it will be much like today. Temperatures will be pleasant, sitting in the 80s.
Next Week: Our rain chances will be heavily dependent on what soon-to-be Imelda does in the Atlantic early next week. We do not expect local impacts, but stray showers are possible starting Monday as it moves closer to the coast.
Temperatures will cool off significantly during the last half of the work week. Get ready for highs to drop into the 70s by Thursday and lows to sit in the 50s.
Tropics: Hurricane Humberto strengthened into a Category 5 storm today. The cold front moving through the southeast will keep this storm from making landfall in the US. To the west of Humberto, we are tracking Tropical Depression Nine. This will likely be Imelda/ our next tropical storm by Sunday. We are monitoring for possible impacts on the coast. For a more in depth look at the tropical check out Tracking the Tropics.
