Warm and humid start with on-and-off showers and storms

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) -- Good Thursday morning! It's a noticeably warmer and more humid start, with plenty of clouds and temperatures sitting in the low to mid 70s.

A cold front is pushing into the southeast today, bringing scattered showers and storms throughout the day. Expect rain to begin by mid-morning and continue off and on into the afternoon and evening. It won't be a total washout—there will be some breaks between the rain.

Tonight, a few lingering showers stick around, keeping skies mostly cloudy and temperatures mild in the low 70s.

That cold front doesn't fully clear the area just yet, so there's still a chance for an isolated shower or storm on Friday. Highs will reach the low 80s.

Saturday starts out cloudy as the front moves through, but by afternoon, we'll see a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s.

Looking ahead to next week: the forecast settles down with mostly sunny skies and seasonable temperatures.
