COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Three additional suspects were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the death of 22-year-old Jacarie Charles, who was killed in a shooting that happened at Shirley B. Winston Park.
The Columbus Police Department's Fugitive Unit took the three individuals into custody, identified as 20-year-old Elijah Smith, 21-year-old Cortez Turner, and 18-year-old Christopher Culler.

Each suspect was charged with murder and armed robbery.
The incident occurred on Aug. 29, 2025. Earlier in the investigation, 18-year-old Navaris Johnson and 20-year-old JaMorris Barker were taken into custody after being accused of shooting and killing Charles.
Johnson made his first court appearance on Sept. 24, where he entered a not guilty plea on the charges of murder, armed robbery, and an assortment of other charges. He was held without bail, and the case was bound over to Superior Court.
Officials announced on Wednesday that Baker was extradited to Columbus and booked into the Muscogee County Jail.
Smith, Turner, Culler, and Baker are scheduled to appear in Recorder's Court on Thursday, at 1:30 p.m.
More arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
