Don Trollano took the scoring cudgels for the San Miguel Beermen as they scored a 91-85 win over Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings in Game 3 of the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup semifinals on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The former Adamson University Falcons standout finished with a conference-high of 33 points, including three three-point conversions, to be named Player of the Game as the Beermen took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Trollano also played a key role for the Beermen in the endgame as he converted timely baskets to prevent the Gin Kings’ endgame run.
CJ Perez added 19 markers, while Moala Tautuaa stepped up offensively off the bench with 13 markers and five rebounds for the reigning champions Beermen.
The Beermen secured their second straight win in the series despite a subpar showing from June Mar Fajardo, who ended up with six markers, 19 rebounds, and four assists.
Earl Scottie Thompson paced the Gin Kings with 19 points, while Japeth Aguilar and Rhon Jay Abarrientos contributed 14 markers apiece in the loss. (AC)
