Clarkson re-signs with Knicks after historic NBA title run

Filipino-American guard Jordan Clarkson is staying with the New York Knicks after agreeing to a one-year contract worth $3.9 million, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The deal was confirmed by Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul and agent Brandon Cavanaugh, who said Clarkson will return to the Knicks as the defending NBA champions prepare for the new season.

Clarkson played a key role during the Knicks’ championship campaign, helping the franchise capture the NBA title after defeating the San Antonio Spurs in the Finals.

With the championship victory, Clarkson made history as the first Filipino to win an NBA championship, adding another milestone to his decorated professional career.

Clarkson, who has long embraced his Filipino heritage, has represented Gilas Pilipinas in international competitions and remains one of the country’s most recognizable basketball figures.

His return gives New York another experienced scorer and playmaker as the Knicks begin their title defense next season while Clarkson looks to build on a historic year that further cemented his place in Philippine basketball history.
