Indonesia books SEA V Cup semis with straight-sets win over Alas Pilipinas

Indonesia secured a place in the semifinals of the 2026 Southeast Asia Volleyball (SEA V) Cup after defeating Alas Pilipinas in straight sets, 25-20, 25-23, 27-25, on Friday at the Candon City Arena.

The victory allowed Indonesia to finish atop Pool A with a perfect 2-0 record following another composed performance from the reigning AVC Men’s Cup champions.

Rama Fazza Fauzan paced the Indonesians with 13 points built on 11 attacks, one block and one service ace, while Boy Arnez Arabi added 11 points, all from attacks.

Despite the loss, the Philippines showed resistance, especially in the third set where it pushed Indonesia to the limit before the visitors completed the sweep in one hour and 30 minutes.

The defeat dropped Alas Pilipinas to the classification round, where it will face Myanmar for fifth place after ending pool play without a victory.

Cambodia claimed the other semifinal berth from Pool A with a 1-1 record.

Joshua Magalaman led the Philippine offense with 13 points, while Jude Garcia contributed 10. The pair also topped the team’s scoring in its opening match.
