Creamline Cool Smashers closed the PVL On Tour by dominating Galeries Tower Highrisers, 25-21, 25-16, 25-21, on Saturday night at the Victorias City Coliseum in Negros Occidental.
The Cool Smashers overcame several rallies from the Highrisers to finish the six-week preseason series with another convincing performance.
Alyssa Valdez led Creamline with 10 points and was named Player of the Game.
“We’re just happy to win,” Valdez said. “It’s the motivation and inspiration to keep improving and stay in shape for our fans from different parts of the country.”
The match also marked the official Creamline debut of Jaja Santiago, who received a warm reception from the Victorias City crowd.
“It’s overwhelming to play again here, especially in Bacolod. Sobrang dami ng supporters ng both teams dito sa Victorias Arena,” she said.
Jema Galanza contributed seven points, while Santiago, Jeanette Panaga and Diana Carlos added six apiece for Creamline.
Jean Asis paced Galeries Tower with six points. Erika Deloria scored six, Alyssa Bertolano had five, while Shola Alvarez and Roselle Baliton contributed four each. (Adrian Co)
