Netizens and local Australians were shocked after this father-of-three from Perth, Australia was charged with attempted murder and attempted assault – when he poured gasoline over her two daughters then set them on fire.
According to the report by ABC.net, 43-year-old Edward Herbert was smoking cannabis and drinking all day at their home.
Heavily intoxicated, his crazed rampage began when he first poured gasoline over her three-year-old daughter and set her on fire. Later he began pouring gasoline on his 7-year-old daughter as well.
The 3-year-old little girl suffered severe burns to her face and upper body, which would require surgery and laser scar management.
His unnamed partner recalls Herbert saying: “the werewolf is coming at 12pm”.
At around 12 midnight he was heard saying “that’s it b***h, I am going to kill you” before he entered his daughter’s room with a can of gasoline.
Off-duty police officer Stephanie Bochorsky was at her home when she heard the commotion from her neighbors. She heard from a distressed neighbor that Herbert was “setting the kids on fire”.
The police officer quickly ran into the little girl’s room, extinguished the fire and pulled both children from the house.
Another neighbor, Daniel McMillan arrived shortly after and found Mr. Herbert in the kitchen drinking beer.
McMillan demanded to know what Herbert and done, to which he replied his daughters were “too beautiful” and "don't worry, I wouldn't have lit my boy up".
Herbert also told his neighbor that "they were his kids" and that he can do whatever he wants with them.
