There are several variables why they do such dangerous tasks and missions not only for the country but also for its citizens, which we most often overlook and not appreciate.
The story of this brave soldier who feared nothing in order for his country's liberty. His final message will definitely break your heart and wish he had a different ending.
Technical Sergeant Tap Dinglasan final words were directed to Chiara Zambano, an ABS-CBN correspondent.
"Pagbalik ko liligawan kita." Dinglasan said to Zambano.
Upon hearing what he said, Zambano replied "narinig ko yon." Their short exchange of words caused an uproar among other soldiers.
"Bumalik ka muna nang buhay, saka tayo mag-usap," Zambano added.
The media correspondent described Dinglasan's final words to be soft and jesty.
Sadly to their short jesty love story, Technical Sergeant Tap Dinglasan took his last breath when he and his fellow Marines attempted to take back Mapandi Bridge from the Maute's.
He was the only Marine who lost his life that day.
"Salamat sa serbisyo, Tap. Natuwa naman ako na kahit paano, lumusob ka sa laban nang nakatawa," Chiara Zambano's farewell to the Marine.
The city of Marawi in Mindanao is caught under a great deal of gunfights, a battle to freedom and peace.
Several other soldiers lost their lives while fighting for freedom and peace for the country. They live up to the oath they took and will do anything possible to preserve the country's liberty. May their stories be inspiration to all us.
