Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) started the decade by increasing the prices of several vehicles in its local lineup. The Fortuner and the Alphard were initially excluded from that list, but one of our sources from Toyota’s dealer network has now told us that these two models will both receive minor upgrades and a price increase this February.
Toyota’s popular midsize SUV, the Fortuner, will soon be fitted with a reversing camera. Along with this upgrade comes a price bump of P26,000 across all variants. If you’ve seen the spy shots of the facelifted Fortuner circulating cyberspace in recent weeks, there’s a good chance you’ve been anticipating its arrival—but unfortunately, our source tells us that the refreshed model won’t be arriving just yet. These latest updates could be a sign that the launch of the new-look Fortuner is on its way, but we digress.
On the other hand, the Alphard will soon have Toyota Safety Sense features as standard—features that TMP first rolled out with the all-new Corolla Altis and Hiace Super Grandia last year. This new safety package on the Alphard comes with a P170,000 price hike.
As of writing, however, the updates and new prices aren’t official yet. We’ve tried reaching out to TMP regarding this, but we have yet to receive confirmation—once we do, we’ll provide the necessary updates, so watch this space. Oh, and in case you missed the other confirmed price hikes TMP has implemented for 2020, you can check out that story here.
