Al-Nassr clinches 2-1 triumph in Arab Club Championship Cup finals with Cristiano Ronaldo’s double goals

Cristiano Ronaldo netted two goals before being stretchered off in the late stages of the match, as Al-Nassr secured a 2-1 triumph over Al-Hilal in the Arab Club Championship Cup finals on Saturday night (Sunday, Manila time) at Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd Stadium.

The Portuguese booter first scored in the 74th minute with a close-range finish to negate the 51st-minute connection of Al-Hilal’s Michael Richard Delgado de Oliveira.

Ronaldo nearly won the match for Al-Hilal late in the regulation, but his connection was ruled offside, sending the championship game to a 30-minute extra time.

The 38-year-old Ronaldo then surged the Al-Nassr on top in the 98th minute, but he was unable to finish the game after being stretched off with a leg injury.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward is scheduled to undergo tests on Sunday (Monday, Manila time) and is doubtful for the resumption of the Saudi Pro League against Al-Ettifaq this Tuesday.

The Arab Club Championship Cup crown is Ronaldo’s first title since joining the Al-Nassr squad earlier this year.
