Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson is finally on his way to the Philippines to join Gilas Pilipinas ahead of the 2023 FIBA World Cup later this month.
ABS-CBN News shared a post showing the Filipino-American guard at the LAX Airport in Los Angeles, ready to board a plane to the Philippines.
Clarkson’s arrival in the country is a welcome development for the Gilas Pilipinas after it was delayed several times.
The one-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year awardee was supposed to join Gilas in China but did not push through due to the absence of a Chinese visa.
Clarkson will still have around two weeks to fit himself into the system of Gilas head coach Vincent “Chot” Reyes.
