After basketball, retired boxer Manny Pacquiao is planning to form a volleyball league soon.
According to the eight-division world boxing champion, he is planning to form the Maharlika Pilipinas Volleyball Association (MPVA) in the coming months.
“So ang planned launching namin is after the hosting of the 2023 FIBA World Cup (later this month),” Pacquiao said.
“Naisip ko lang kasi na, we are winning the fight against illegal drugs, so kailangan may alternative (na liga) so they can stay busy,” he added.
MPBL official Emerson Oreta said that the league is intended for female volleyball players.
“Papalo na soon. Mga Pinay naman ang bida,” Oreta said.
