Danerie James “Wise” Del Rosario and Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna, two of the most decorated players in the Mobile Legends professional scene, will skip MPL Season 12, Blacklist International announced on Thursday.
“Now that we’ve announced our official roster for MPL Season 12, we can now also confirm that VeeWise will not be participating in the upcoming season. After the consecutive seasons and tournament grind of MPL S10, M4, MPL S11, and MSC, they wanted to take some time away to recharge and recover,” the team said in a statement.
“Though this was not an easy decision for them to make, we believe this is what’s best for them as players and individuals. They have the full support of their Blacklist International and Tier One Entertainment family, both in-game and out,” the team added.
The last time the “V33Wise” duo sat out an entire MPL season was in Season 9. Blacklist struggled during their absence and failed to enter the playoffs of that season.
For Season 12, Blacklist will rely on Edward Jay “Edward” Dapadap, Kiel “Oheb” Soriano, Salic “Hadji” Imam, Kenneth Carl “Yue” Tadeo, Lee Howard “Owl” Gonzales, Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse, Russel “Eyon” Usi, Stephen “Sensui” Castillo, and rookie Kim “Kimpoy” Dela Cruz.
Meanwhile, Dexter “Dex Star” Alaba, Aniel “MasterTheBasics” Jiandani, Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza, and new analyst Justin “Calad” Limbo will comprise their coaching staff. (MJD)
