Gilas Pilipinas’ naturalized player Justin Brownlee expressed surprise that Jordan’s reinforcement, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, is not currently playing in the NBA.
According to Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings’ import, a talent like Hollis-Jefferson deserves a spot in the NBA.
“I was just telling one of the guys I don’t know why he’s not in the NBA. With his talent and skillset, he definitely should be in the NBA,” Brownlee said in an interview with Philstar Online.
Brownlee and Hollis-Jefferson faced off in the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup, with Hollis-Jefferson’s TNT Tropang Giga winning the title against Brownlee’s Gin Kings.
The two players are poised for a rematch in the 19th Asian Games, as Gilas Pilipinas and Jordan are placed in the same bracket.
“It’s going to be great. He’s an incredible player. It’s an honor to play against a guy like him,” Brownlee said.
“It’s going to be tough, so we have to be prepared. He and Jordan played fairly well; they had some tough games in the World Cup,” he added.
