Alphonse Areola conceded a goal late in the game, but West Ham United still got their third win in the English Premier League after beating Luton Town 2-1 on Friday night (Saturday, Manila time) in Luton, England.
The Filipino-French goalkeeper fell short of a clean sheet for West Ham United after giving up a goal to Luton Town’s Mads Anderson in the 90+2 minute of the contest.
Areola actually ended without a saved goal in 90 minutes for the first time in four games, and Luton Town did not have a shot on target the entire game until Anderson’s connection.
Jarrod Bowen drew first blood for West Ham United with his 37th-minute conversion before it was doubled by Kurt Zouma in the 85th minute of the contest.
With this, West Ham United stays at the top of the standings with three wins and a draw, while Luton Town suffered its third setback in as many games.
