The Philippine women’s volleyball team has dropped 15 places in the latest International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) World Rankings released on Friday.
Based on the rankings, the Jorge Edson Souza de Brito-led Pinay Spikers slumped to 72nd place for the month of August from their 57th place rankings last July.
During the month of August, the Philippine team lost all six matches in the two-leg Southeast Asian (SEA) V.League women’s division.
Recently, the Pinay Spikers lost all of their group stage matches in the 22nd Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship, which could contribute to more downfall in their September rankings.
The National University Lady Bulldogs-represented team could salvage a win in the AWVC tournament if they defeated Iran in the classification round this Sunday.
