Forthsky Padrigao responds to Spin’s Homer Sayson: ‘Stop the crap’

Rence “Forthsky” Padrigao strongly criticized Spin.ph columnist Homer Sayson for asserting that he received a P1 million signing bonus from the University of Santo Tomas Growling Tigers.

In an Instagram story post, the former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles guard publicly criticized the columnist for his unverified post on his X account last Monday.

“Stop the crap 😂,” Padrigao wrote

He also wrote “lured 😭😂😂” and “don’t you owe someone some…nvm😂😂” in the said post.

Sayson initially reported Padrigao’s transfer to UST in his column last Sunday, stating that Padrigao opted for the Growling Tigers over the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons because of a “more attractive offer.”

In the same tweet, Sayson alleged that the Fighting Maroons had offered Ateneo de Cebu standout Jared Bahay a P2 million signing bonus, along with a house and lot, and a car.

The trend of players choosing UST comes as less of a surprise, given their current backing by San Miguel Corporation.

The Blue Eagles initially declared that Padrigao would not be part of the school’s UAAP Season 86 title defense due to academic issues.

Following this, Padrigao publicly announced his departure from the university, citing “pressures stemming from past mistakes” as the reason.

Padrigao achieved the runner-up position for the UAAP MVP award last season, boasting impressive averages of 11.61 points, 4.93 assists, 4.22 rebounds, and 2.22 steals per game.
