Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters forward Javee Mocon responded to GMA Network’s adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) sportscasting for NCAA Season 99.
In a comment on GMA News’ Facebook post, Mocon humorously told fellow PBA player Rey Nambatac of the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters that they might be out of a job due to this technological innovation.
“Wala na tayong trabaho pare Rey Chan Nambatac,” Mocon said.
Mocon and Nambatac are among the former NCAA products who are serving as game anchors for the NCAA juniors and senior basketball matches.
In the mentioned post, GMA News introduced Maia and Marco as their AI sportscasters for the upcoming NCAA Season 99 games.
In addition to Mocon, numerous netizens, including some communication arts students, have expressed their disapproval of GMA’s choice to depend on AI instead of human sportscasters.
