The PLDT High Speed Hitters rode on the career game of Erika Santos to score a 32-30, 25-18, and 25-17 sweep over the NxLed Chameleons in the PVL Reinforced Conference on Tuesday night at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
The former De La Salle University Lady Spikers standout finished with a career-high of 19 points, built on 16 attacks and three blocks, as the High Speed Hitters stayed perfect in three matches.
According to Santos, the tightly contested first-set encounter has woken up the High Speed Hitters and helped them dominate the Chameleons in the second and third sets through their defense.
“Nung first set, hinahanap pa namin ‘yung groove namin kasi maganda din ang nilaro ng NxLed tapos inimprove lang namin ‘yung defense and blockings namin,” Santos said.
“Personally, wala naman nagbago sa akin coming into this game, siguro ‘yung daily routine na ginagawa sa training, ‘yung mga pre-game na ginagawa ko, in-apply ko lang sa game, and nakatulong naman sa team ng maayos,” she added.
The Chameleons, on the other hand, suffered their second straight defeat to drop to a 1-2 win-loss card.
