The Quezon City TODA Aksyon got back on the winning track in the 2024 MPBL season after an 87-65 rout of the Bulacan Kuyas on Tuesday night at the Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City.
John Paul Cauilan finished with 14 points, eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and a block as Quezon City snapped a two-game losing streak to improve to a 9-11 win-loss slate.
“Nagstick lang kami sa system namin and sa depensa namin, kaya nakuha namin itong panalo na ito, nirespeto lang namin ‘yung nakalaban namin na team,” Cauilan said during his Player of the Game interview.
Hubert Cani also ended up with 14 markers, including three outside conversions, while Michael Are ended up with 10 points for Quezon City.
Quezon City immediately made their presence felt in the opening quarter as they cruised to a 26-17 lead before unloading a 25-10 second-quarter run en route to establishing the largest advantage of 36 points.
John Cayno Carandang tallied 17 points, seven rebounds, and five assists; Ralph Manzo had a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds; and Jason Celis ended with 10 as Bulacan dropped to 2-19.
Meanwhile, the Muntinlupa Cagers (7-13) returned to their winning ways with a dominant 76-63 over the Imus Agimat VA Drones (1-19). Errol Bongay had 19 points and nine rebounds for Muntinlupa.
