Hidilyn Diaz celebrates Carlos Yulo’s Olympic gold medal win

Filipina weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz celebrated Carlos Edriel Yulo’s gold medal win in the men’s floor exercise finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Saturday night.

In an Instagram story, Diaz expressed her joyous moments after Yulo secured the country’s second Olympic gold medal and the first in gymnastics.

“Yehey! May Olympic Gold tayo from @c_edrielzxs,” Diaz wrote.

Diaz was the first Philippine athlete to win an Olympic gold medal, achieving this in the women’s 55-kg weightlifting class at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, held in 2021.

Yulo, on the other hand, missed a podium finish in the Tokyo Games, placing fourth in the men’s vault apparatus finals.

The 24-year-old Yulo still has a chance to win another medal as he competes in the vault apparatus finals on Sunday evening (Manila time).
