Justin Brownlee, Pelita Jaya force do-or-die Game 3 in IBL Finals

Justin Brownlee and the Pelita Jaya stayed alive in the Indonesia Basketball League Finals after an 82-70 Game 2 win over the Satria Muda Pertamina on Saturday night at the IndoMilk Arena in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player finished with 14 points, with 11 coming in the second half, to go with five rebounds, one assist, and a block in 30 minutes for the Pelita Jaya.

K.J. McDaniels led the way for Pelita Jaya with 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists, while Jerome Anthony Beane Jr. and Agassi Yeshe Goantara ended with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Pelita Jaya set the tone early as they established a 17-12 lead after the opening quarter, but Satria Muda got their shots to fall in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 35-38 at the half.

Brownlee started to make his presence felt in the third quarter as Pelita Jaya built a 64-58 lead before pulling away for good in the fourth period for their biggest lead of 73-60 on a connection by Goantara.

Reynaldo Garcia Zamora tallied 19 points, two rebounds, and two assists; Artem Pustovyi added 17 points and nine rebounds; and Elgin Cook ended with 13 for Satria Muda.

The do-or-die Game 3 between Pelita Jaya and Satria Muda is scheduled for Sunday night at the same venue.
