Rain or Shine Elasto Painters head coach Joseller “Yeng” Guiao believes his team is prepared for the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots in the PBA Governors’ Cup quarterfinals.
The seven-time PBA champion coach stated that their challenging games in Group B have equipped the Painters both physically and mentally to take on teams from Group A, starting with the Hotshots.
“Magandang preparation ‘yun, and I will accept that na ‘yung pinagdaanan naming hirap, nakatulong ‘yun para mag improve ‘yung mga bata,” Guiao said in an interview with DWAR Abante Radyo’s SPORTSNOW program on Monday night.
“Magandang testing ‘yun (mga Group B games) para sa amin, magandang way ‘yun para mapatigas mo ‘yung mga bata and para ma-toughen up mo sila physically and mentally,” he added.
Among the teams the Painters have defeated in Group B are the San Miguel Beermen, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings, the NLEX Road Warriors, the Blackwater Bossing, and the Phoenix Fuel Masters.
The Painters secured the No. 1 seed in Group B after winning seven of their 10 matches. They will face the Hotshots, which ended in fourth place in Group A with a 5-5 record.
