The Akari Chargers recently held a training camp in Japan, which provided Ced Domingo the chance to reunite with her former Creamline Cool Smashers teammate, Jia de Guzman.
“FINE!!! I MISSED YOU TOO!!” Domingo exclaimed in a playful video posted on her Instagram account, featuring her joyful reunion with the star setter.
“I know you’ll miss me again.. I love you ate @juliacmorado Japanese import married woman,” Domingo added in another post, sharing a photo of herself jokingly sobbing as she hugged De Guzman.
Domingo left Creamline earlier this year after her stint in Thailand—a decision that left the team’s fans heartbroken. She has since joined the Akari Chargers, with both teams meeting in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference finals this year.
De Guzman, meanwhile, has not yet returned to the Cool Smashers. After her first season with Japan’s Denso Airybees in the SV.League, she was tapped to lead the Alas Pilipinas women’s team in two international challenge cups. She is now back in Japan to contribute to Denso’s ongoing campaign.
Before going their separate ways, De Guzman and Domingo’s on-court chemistry and iconic plays were key to Creamline’s multiple PVL championships. Domingo notably finished the 2022 Invitational Conference as the Finals MVP.
