Bea de Leon firmly believes her move to the Creamline Cool Smashers was a stroke of destiny.
While she acknowledged that leaving her first professional team was a personal decision driven by her desire to grow as an athlete, she remarked that “things just really fell into place” when Creamline offered her an opportunity.
“It was a personal decision supported—eventually—by the management,” she said in an interview with Bilyonaryo News Channel’s The Scorecard.

“I felt that I had to grow. I felt that I was stuck where I was. Again, at the end of the day, I had to think of myself.”
The Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) product revealed that Creamline was seeking a middle blocker just as she was navigating a challenging phase in her career.
De Leon expressed her desire to start fresh, but she felt that leaving Rebisco was not an option.
“Thinking about leaving Choco Mucho—other than leaving them—obviously, if not for Creamline, I had to leave Rebisco. I did not want that to happen.”
“Buti na lang din things played out. They had room for me in Creamline. The rest was history,” she added.
De Leon now holds three Premier Volleyball League (PVL) championship rings after the Cool Smashers’ successful Grand Slam victory this year.
In Creamline, she reunited with veteran libero Denden Lazaro and other former ADMU standouts, including Alyssa Valdez and Ella de Jesus.
