In light of the recent developments regarding volleyball star Eya Laure’s reported conflict with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, volleyball player-turned-manager Carmela Tunay expressed her frustration over the situation.
In a series of posts on X, Tunay revealed that several athletes who have faced similar contract issues have reached out to her in the past seeking assistance.
so many athletes (not under VP) consult with us pag may problema na. ang hirap tulungan din kasi puro pirmado na. and sobrang daming hindi naiintindihan ang terms and clauses kaya very common to akong athletes to just sign stuff they dont fully understand.

Tunay also noted that many athletes struggle to understand the terms and clauses of their contracts, highlighting the prevalence of players committing to their teams without adequate guidance.
Marami pa nga dyan walang copy ng long form contract, puro short form offer sheet lang na 1 pager. Kaya yung terms and clauses hindi nila alam, ang alam lang nila magkano sahod nila.
Pero the complex side of things, di nila alam kasi wala sila nung mga long-form

Although Tunay clarified that she was not specifically referring to Laure’s case, it reminded her of previous experiences she had with other athletes.
im not referring to Eya’s case in particular ha. But her case brings back soooo many scenarios i’ve experienced with more athletes in the past.
